Last week we recommended you to make the most of the spring by visiting the beautiful Parque de la Batería. This week as the weather is still warm and lovely we encourage you to have a tasty and fresh gazpacho with us at Hotel Yaramar, your hotel in Fuengirola.

Here at Hotel Yaramar you can give it a go either at the Rivera Beach Club, where it is available all year round, or at our restaurant, during the summer months in the Andalusian nights.

Gazpacho has to be served cold, it is very tasty and also contains lots of vitamins, therefore it is very healthy.

Among its main ingredients are bread, olive oil and fresh tomatoes, so it is one of the most important dishes of the Mediterranean diet.

Gazpacho is part of the typical Andalusian cuisine and has evolved with the years to the current version. This evolution has not only made it more delicious but also resulted in the creation of new yummy dishes like salmorejo or like ajoblanco.

Its origins are unclear though it is thought that it comes from the hottest regions of Spain where labourers needed a cheap and refreshing dish for a bit of energy boost.

In the 60s with the tourist boom gazpacho started to get known internationally.

Nowadays it is consumed during the warmest months as a low fat refreshing drink. 100ml of it only contains among 44 and 55 calories, which is amazing. Besides its little calories, it will also leave you well satisfied, so it is great if you want to lose weight.

It has been proved that having gazpacho regularly reduces probabilities of suffering certain kinds of cancer and as vegetables are its main ingredient it is obvious that it is also very good for our health in general.
